Our Minor Race with a Massive prize went very well. Our Club President through his super daughter donated 2 Gold Card tickets to the Slalom event of Lauberhorn weekend! Wow! What a Massive prize, 12 people competed. Congratulations to young member Elizabeth, a solid ski and a deserved win.

It was quite a special morning. We ran our race an hour later than I expected. Why? Because Danny Zugger was choosing Beat Fuez’s Ski’s for the downhill on Saturday!

Now one young Ed has already featured in this blog. However with a slightly larger audience; he has now featured in Ski Sunday too. Well done Ed. #skisunday, really works. Go watch that on the BBC.

Ski Sunday didn’t manage to provide any coverage of Dave Ryding (he’s British) in the Slalom. He managed 15th overall, completing two good runs. Obviously not good enough, for him, but building and we were all proud. Com’on Dave; you can do it! There was no lacking of support for Dave in Wengen. A willingness for him to do well from the Swiss and some serious support from these boys and girl too.

I also liked this picture I took of the Slalom finish line:

A little about Lauberhorn

It was fabulous. Something I particularly enjoyed was that on Thursday 16th we had our member club race on the Maennlichen race piste. I was hoping to be racing by 09:30. Amazingly… we were delayed. As I mentioned, Danny from the Swiss Ski Team was on the slope testing and choosing skis for the racing team. Crucially he was choosing the ski’s for Beat Fuez! Who then went and won the downhill! I do love it when a Swiss wins here.

Well done to Clement Noel as well, a very commanding victory in the Slalom. It was all a little quiet when the Austrian Matthias Mayer won the combination on Friday, it was all very exciting.

Room to Voom,

I know. I’ve mentioned them. We’ve got the bars for Inferno Team. Va va…..

We’ve now had it confirmed that the Inferno will be running to Winteregg. Which means we’ll have a much bigger climb after the first traverse. Of course that means everyone racing will get to work off some lactic acid!

It’s been a great week. A little fresh snow. Some seriously cold weather. As ever great company on the slopes and in village. I’ve been in undated with great feedback for Ruth, our ski leader this last few weeks. Thanks Ruth.

Thank you all. That’s it for this week.
