The McMillan piste opened this week. Preparations for the race began in earnest over the last few days. I’m pleased to say there has been a lot of sunshine already and there is enough snow. The snow making has remained at what appears to be full capacity since the start of the winter season. This means we have a huge and varied area to ski on.
A lot of you will have had your email about our newly offered DHO members deal from stc (www.stc.co.uk).
Here’s the new deal: include it in your holiday preparations

This weekend & next week.
From today through to next Thursday Wengen begins to fill up with school children. Initially from European International schools for races over the weekend. If you are available and willing to help with gate keeping for these races then contact Liz Moore and let her know. Then from Saturday British schools boys start arriving for the DHO British School Boys Races, there will be a reception in the DHO Club room on Sunday evening from 1730 to 1800hrs. Races through to Wednesday. For the British School boy races let me know if you could assist on Monday evening with their parallel night slalom.
The coming 10 days are all about participating and assisting. Tonight (Thursday 26th January 2017; Happy Australia Day), there will be sheets to fill in for racing or helping with races. Next Tuesday (31/1) the club will need at least 6 helpers for the Lucy Dicker Parallel night Slalom, then on Wednesday (1/2) just after the British School boys finish their GS, we need 4 or 5 in support for our Tourist Cup. Finally we will have the McMillan Downhill on Thursday (2/2) – I can use up to 20 assistants on this race.
Prize giving for all the races will be from 6pm on Thursday 2/2 in the DHO Club. we will then head down to the Bellevue Hotel for our McMillan dinner. Hopefully numbers can be finalised for this by Monday or Tuesday evening next week.
Finally we had a fantastic day over in Murren yesterday, here are a couple of pictures.
