McMillan week and Fresh Snow
What a 14 days! To be honest skiing wise it has been a fantastic season so far. Great weather and snow at Christmas and New Year. The weekend of the Lauberhorn Downhill was great fun with great weather. We’ve had our biggest ever Inferno Team, the race ran from top to bottom (Schilthorn to Lauterbrunnen!) and as a team we got an A for our medal haul!
Oh the company, oh the snow. oh the drinks, oh the fun, oh the sorrow! McMillan week / fortnight is always good Craic and this was no exception. The race piste was in magnificent condition and many of the 32 racers had lots of practice runs. (Some of them skied for the first time on the day of the race!) The snow has been refreshed practically every other day, giving us 6 new snow powder days. Poor Nick did dislocated his shoulder. Of course it ruined his week, but he put a brave face on and got a wee trip.

Fresh Tracks & Fabulous Piste
The conditions have been so magnificent that Wengen Locals who have barely skied for years have been spotted carving round the mountain. We’ve had one of our snowboarding members out with the group skiing. We’ve had close to retirement officers of the British law buried in powder snow We’ve had returning youngsters winning vast hauls of trophies, and we’ve followed ski instructors through building sites! Amazing weeks in an amazing place.
The Season so far and other results.
So that’s to come. Those of you who notice this (the blog) will have noticed there has not been one this winter yet. Sorry about that, the website is being revitalized / changed and we / I was unable to access the website to do this until now. Therefore, not immediately but over the next few weeks we’ll get some stories from the early part of the season too. Including the McMillan week results of course.
