Sunday, not quite! But here is a little more about the Odling Cup
I know it is not Sunday. Sunday came and went, as it does every week! And so finally here are some comments and pictures about the Odling Cup.
It’s not Sunday, but here are the overall results:
Odling Cup 2017 Results
Caroline was very pleased to win the cup, her aggressive but fluid style took over the finish line faster than anyone else. I made this race an open race this year and we had some lovely visitors. Some of whom we hope will not only join the club, but perhaps race with us at the AICC in Meribel next winter. Well done on third place Max:
Second place went to Catherine (Caroline’s sister). She skis with a less aggressive style than Catherine, but this time did not quite manage to beat her over the line. I suspect this rivalry may go on for some years to come.
The race also so a notable achievements from Peter W and Emma. Peter managed to just squeeze in in under 1 minute! Emma defeated her Dad for the first time. Brilliant.
The Odling cup will be held at the same time next winter. Probably on Thursday 5th of April. It is my hope we will be able to make it an open event again. Hopefully you can plan your Easter Ski trip 2018 to coincide with this club event. Next winter that will be the final week of Club Activities, keep your eye out for a Closing party on Friday 6th of April.
This last week of the season, we’ve had Peter out skiing everyday. (I’ve mostly been in my little cupboard!) Those around have really enjoyed the skiing we still have to offer. Up until yesterday there were still some lovely spring routes spiralling down through the heather. Today a DHO group went over to Murren, it is glorious again: Sunshine is something we have not been short of this winter.
